Special Education

For students with learning disabilities, or diverse learners that are at risk of or experiencing unique learning challenges, educators and education professionals trained in special education can directly impact both their learning outcomes and overall quality of life. Providing special, individualized educational opportunities to these students is understood to be critical and allows for and helps facilitate personal growth and development.

Individuals who pursue careers in special education and share the goal of supporting students with unique emotional, mental, physical, and or development challenges often possess qualities including intuition, a strong work ethic, creativity, and compassion and empathy. The special education programs available at the GSE are offered at every level (non-degree, master’s, and doctoral) and harness these qualities while preparing students to address the instructional needs of the students they serve.
