Program Overview

5-Year Program in Elementary Education (K-6) with English as a Second Language Certification

The five-year teacher education program in elementary education (K-6) and English as a Second Language leads to a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, and initial teacher certification in elementary education. Candidates will also be recommended for the ESL and/or Bilingual/Bicultural endorsement upon completion of the program.

Ed.M. with Certification in Elementary Education (K-6)

The Ed.M. program with (K-6) teacher certification is designed for individuals who already possess a bachelor’s degree and wish to pursue both teacher certification and a master’s degree in education at the same time.

5-Year Program in Elementary Education (K-6) with Subject Matter Specialization (5-8) Certification

The 5-Year Program in Elementary Education (K-6) with Subject Matter Specialization (5-8) Certification covers a range of foundational topics in elementary education including the principles of classroom learning, evaluation and assessment, classroom organization, literacy development, and educational psychology.

5-Year Program in Elementary Education (K-6) with Preschool through Grade 3 (P-3) Certification

The 5-Year Program in Elementary Education (K-6) with Preschool through Grade 3 (P-3) Certification covers foundational and specialized topics in elementary and early childhood education including the principles of classroom learning, evaluation and assessment, classroom organization, literacy development, community relations, and educational psychology.
