Program Overview

Ph.D. in Education Program: Learning, Cognition, Instruction, and Development Concentration with Specialization in Science Education

The Science Education specialization within the Learning, Cognition, Instruction, and Development (LCID) concentration prepares students to conduct research surrounding the learning and teaching of science within different scientific disciplines.

Ed.M. in Science Education

The Ed.M. in Science Education program at the GSE is designed to promote the exploration of topics in physical science, biological science, or general science education depending on the student’s expressed field of interest, and allows for a comprehensive and truly personalized educational experience.

Ed.M. with Certification in Physical Science or Physics Education

The Ed.M. program with (K-12) teacher certification in physical science or physics education is designed for individuals who possess a bachelor’s degree in these fields, or a closely related field, and who wish to pursue teacher certification and a master’s degree in education at the same time.

Ed.M. with Certification in Biological Science Education

The Ed.M. program with (K-12) teacher certification in biological science education is designed to help students deepen their understanding of the learning and teaching of biological sciences with a focus on inquiry-based teaching that is aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)

Ed.M. with Certification in Agricultural Science Education

The Ed.M. program with (K-12) teacher certification in agricultural science education is designed to help students deepen their understanding and knowledge surrounding agricultural sciences while developing content-specific teaching methods appropriate for the discipline.

5-Year Program with Certification in Physical Science and Physics Education (K-12)

The 5-year program with teacher certification in physical science and or physics education (K-12) is designed to help students deepen their understanding of the core principles surrounding physics and chemistry.

5-Year Program with Certification in Agricultural Science Education (K-12)

The 5-year program with teacher certification in K-12 agricultural science education is designed to prepare students with a comprehensive understanding of agricultural science and content-specific teaching methods appropriate for the discipline.

5-Year Biological Science Education (K-12)

The 5-year program with teacher certification in K-12 biological science education is designed to help students deepen their understanding of the learning and teaching of biological sciences, with a focus on inquiry-based teaching that is aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
