GSE Appoints Sunita Jagtiani-Sanghvi to Lead Finance and Administration

Sunita Jagtiani-Sanghvi has been appointed senior director of finance and administration of Rutgers Graduate School of Education (GSE), where she will serve as chief operating and business officer and the senior advisor to the Dean regarding all fiscal and administrative matters.

Jagtiani-Sanghvi brings over 15 years of experience in data management, business operations, personnel management, and finance and administration at Rutgers University.

As the senior director of finance and administration, Jagtiani-Sanghvi is responsible for planning, organizing, evaluating, and monitoring the GSE’s financial functions to ensure that the academic and administration needs are being met. She also has overall responsibility for the administration, finance, human resources, financial and strategic planning, and administrative support services of the GSE.

“We are delighted to have Sunita join the GSE team in a significant leadership role,” noted Dean Wanda J. Blanchett. “Her extensive background in finance and administration and her in-depth knowledge of these systems within Rutgers will make her a valuable addition to our school, particularly as the university migrates to a new budget model.”

Most recently Jagtiani-Sanghvi served as assistant dean of academic personnel and data management in Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) Dean’s Office. In this role, Jagtiani-Sanghvi oversaw the development of an internal business intelligence system used to collect, manage, and analyze data, which enabled fact-based decision-making. She also managed the unit responsible for all SAS faculty personnel matters including budget tracking and payroll processing.

Prior to being promoted to assistant dean, Jagtiani-Sanghvi served as personnel manager in the SAS Office of Policy and Personnel, business specialist in the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology Dean’s Office, program administrative assistant in the Department of Clinical Psychology, and program coordinating associate/database assistant in the Rutgers Summer Session Office. 

Jagtiani-Sanghvi earned a bachelor of arts degree in economics with an accounting option from Rutgers and continues to take graduate courses in Rutgers School of Public Affairs and Administration and Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations.

In her free time Jagtiani-Sanghvi enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family.
