Three experts – from Sociology, Anthropology and Education – share insights in a roundtable conversation on education and social advancement, especially as perceived by youth. How do Rutgers immigrant college students compare to students of all levels in the mainland Chinese system? What kind of decisions do they face? How do youth define success and experience social mobility, and does it make a difference where they come from, and head to, especially from a cultural perspective? How are merit and social capital considered? Questions and input from the audience will be welcome.
