Learning Sciences Lunch and Learn with Lauren M.E. Goodlad “DESIGN JUSTICE LABS: An Approach to Teaching Critical AI Literacies”

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Graduate School of Education (10 Seminary Pl) – Room #124

The format for this event will be hybrid with both in-person and virtual options. Our speaker will be presenting on Zoom virtually. However, all students and faculty are invited and encouraged to join us in the GSE Lecture Hall (Room 124) to connect with each other in-person and with the speaker virtually. Lunch will be provided!

For those who cannot attend in person, there is an option to attend virtually via Zoom:  https://rutgers.zoom.us/j/95878683015?pwd=VHFuNUlSRVdEb2lHbXNJRzFKN3BHZz09

In this informal lecture, Lauren Goodlad describes the Design Justice Labs approach to teaching critical AI literacies, an approach that emphasizes student- and community-centered learning about technology and the design of digital tools informed by the needs and interests of the people who are expected to use them. As a resource for teaching critical AI literacies, the Design Justice Labs approach emphasizes enabling students to approach digital tools as researchers rather than users.
