Congratulations to CSA Teams for Sweeping Case Study Competition

Graduate School of Education College Student Affairs students earned first and second place in the 2014 Maryland Student Affairs Case Study Competition. Agata Rybalkiewicz, Catherine Ramirez, and Helen Xu earned first place and a $500 cash award. The second place team, Heidi Nicklaus, Jennifer Harris, and Ama Agumeh, won a $250 cash award.

The teams were asked to address concerns related to undocumented citizens and immigrant policies at a fictional community college where the President is facing pressure from students and the local community to clarify the college’s enforcement of policies such as the enrollment of undocumented citizens, financial aid assistance procedures, and requiring a state identification card in order to enroll.

According to the judges, the unique perspectives of both teams on the case were insightful and original.
