The School of Saint Elizabeth is a vibrant Catholic school community dedicated to providing a nurturing, faith-filled educational environment for our students. The ideal candidate will embrace the values of our Catholic faith and possess the skills necessary to create a positive and engaging learning environment for students.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be practicing Catholic as verified by the Pastor of the parish in which the applicant is registered.
  • Qualified candidates must be committed to our community and the faith development within our school.
  • Five years of teaching experience with at least three years in a Catholic school.
  • Master’s degree with certification in Administration and Supervision of School Administrator Certificate of Eligibility.
  • Successful completion of the required criminal and child abuse clearances and official transcripts must be provided before employment.
  • Principals are obligated to comply with the Manual of School Policies issued by the Diocese of Metuchen.
  • Candidates will participate in formal conversations with parish, school, and Diocesan leadership before an offer of employment as Principal.

Qualifications:

  • Leadership Provide senior leadership by setting a clear vision and goals for the school.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the school’s performance and reputation.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the school, students, parents, and the community.
  • Utilize strong public speaking skills to represent the school at various events and meetings.
  • Academically manage aspects of education administration, including curriculum development.
  • Support instructional staff ensuring the most current best practices and programs are utilized.
  • Lead and motivate staff to achieve educational goals and maintain high standards of discipline.
  • Conduct regular classroom observations to support teachers and to improve teaching practices.

Enrollment and Development:

  • Collaborate with the Director of School Operations and related staff in the marketing, development, and admissions initiatives to increase enrollment and retention.
  • Serve as an ambassador and advocate for the school’s mission, goals, and achievements.
  • Provide leadership and discipline to foster a safe and caring environment that instills confidence, strong character, and academic excellence.
  • Provide curricular and co-curricular programs and activities developed to focus on the best and most appropriate approach to learning for our students.
  • Ensure implementation of student and parent code of conduct.
