Program Overview
The Ed.M. in Educational Administration and Supervision (Option C) program at the GSE is nationally certified by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and prepares candidates for positions of leadership in public and private K-12 schools and higher education institutions that do not require administrator certification. It builds on a foundation of course work in educational administration and leadership and allows the opportunity for students to choose electives in specific areas of expertise for deeper inquiry. Students will develop their skills in, and be evaluated on principles of general and instructional leadership and management, and their ability to demonstrate the basic knowledge, skills, and dispositions to function effectively within in various educational contexts.
This program does not prepare students for certification. For candidates interested in pursuing a master of education degree in administration and supervision within elementary or secondary education with certification, the following two programs are also available:

What You’ll Learn
Through research-driven coursework and guidance from expert faculty, candidates enrolled in this program will deepen their knowledge of educational administration and refine their leadership skills to become agents of change promoting each student’s academic success and well-being. Graduates will possess the ability to develop and support academically rigorous, equitable systems of curriculum, instruction, and assessment that effectively facilitate student learning and academic success. They will possess the competencies to cultivate an inclusive, caring, and supportive school community and the flexibility to apply these learnings across settings and within various educational contexts.

- 15 Credits – Educational Administration Courses
- 9 Credits – Outside Elective Courses

The Ed.M. in Educational Administration and Supervision (Option C) program prepares candidates for positions of leadership in public and private K-12 schools and higher education institutions that do not require administrator certification. Graduates may consider leadership roles including Adult and Continuing Education, College Student Affairs, training manager, curriculum specialist, and education consultant.
