  • Research Statement

I plan to research the unique experience of female undergraduates who choose to major in STEM. By exploring the relationship between academic advising interactions, intersecting social identities, and the complex process of major choosing, my research can inform a new model of feminist advising that does not rely on male developmental stages. Better institutional support systems may allow more female students to consider STEM a viable and compelling option for college and life post-graduation.
