Information for Alumni & Friends
GSE has educated more than 15,500 teachers, counselors, scholars, and other education leaders. We’re just as proud of our Jersey roots as our global reach. In all 50 states and more than 35 countries around the world, GSE alumni are shaping better lives and creating brighter futures through education. Our success in developing accomplished leaders for New Jersey’s public schools is clear. Four of our graduates have served as the state’s commissioner of education, and among our recent graduates are a New Jersey Teacher of the Year and two recipients of the state’s Distinguished Student Teacher Award.
Welcome, old friends and new. We encourage you to explore all that the GSE has to offer.
Graduate School of Education Alumni Association
For more than 50 years, the Graduate School of Education Alumni Association (GSEAA) has been promoting and supporting education and camaraderie among GSE alumni. The GSEAA is an independent, nonprofit organization managed by volunteers. There are no dues, and every GSE alumnus is automatically a member. Programs and services of the GSEAA include:
- professional development;
- networking opportunities for educators and students;
- monthly meetings of the Executive Board; and
- alumni events.
In addition, as a charter member of the Rutgers University Alumni Association (RUAA), the GSEAA gives alumni the opportunity to take advantage of RUAA benefits. To get involved with the GSEAA, contact the president, Dr. Barbara Trueger, at btrueger@yahoo.com.
Caring for Our Community
Rutgers–New Brunswick values each community member’s unique perspectives, which enrich our campus culture. We are committed to free speech, academic freedom, and civil discourse—and the right of all in our community to safely learn, teach, and carry on the university’s essential work.
