The Ed.M. in Social Studies Education is designed for students with career interests in teaching, curriculum, and educational research at the elementary, secondary, and college levels.


Applications can be completed online. Applications are due by February 1 for fall admission; this program does not offer spring admission.

Program Requirements

The 30-credit program requires students to complete 18 credits in social studies and 12 credits in closely related fields.

Accepted students will have 5 years to complete the program, from the beginning of any course work to be counted toward the program.
