STEM Education
The research on STEM education engaged, taught, and pioneered by GSE faculty addresses a broad range of issues relating to the promotion of more effective learning and teaching in the disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The scholarship published by our faculty and engaged in our programs’ curricula addresses diverse topics including the development of effective learning environments to support student growth, promoting more effective reasoning practices, assessment in STEM education, understanding teaching quality, the professional development of teachers, social justice in STEM education, integration of STEM with other parts of the curriculum, and promoting interest in STEM careers.
Students interested in pursuing a degree or non-degree program at the GSE within the area of STEM education have the opportunity to explore specialized topics including biological science, agricultural science, physical science, math education, statistics and measurement, and educational technology, amongst others, and depending on the program level.
