  • Research Statement

My research focuses on the relationship between the historical marginalization of African American educators and present-day teacher burnout in urban districts, with particular attention to how systemic inequities shape working conditions, professional sustainability, and educator retention. This work also seeks to highlight how these inequities are disproportionately directed toward marginalized African American communities, while simultaneously producing broader negative consequences for the education system as a whole—contributing to teacher burnout, diminished support structures, and retention challenges across districts of all types.
