Join us for a critical discussion of the escalating attacks on transgender rights in the U.S. and their broader implications for American civil liberties. State legislatures across the country are enacting anti-trans laws targeting healthcare, employment, education, and public spaces. These efforts are bolstered by recent federal executive orders that accelerate the systematic erosion of trans rights. Recent executive orders ban trans people from military service and sports, restrict access to medical care and public spaces, and systematically erase trans and intersex people. The war on trans existence threatens civil liberties beyond the trans community. This conversation will explore how these efforts undermine democracy, embolden broader assaults on bodily autonomy, and set dangerous legal precedents affecting LGBTQ+ people, women, and other vulnerable groups. Understanding these developments is crucial for anyone concerned about the preservation of civil rights and the potential ripple effects on society at large.
