Global Education

As a means to help students develop global and multicultural perspectives, the Graduate School of Education is pleased to offer programmatic and course-based student learning opportunities that directly involve members of our local and global community. Through these direct interpersonal interactions – coupled with involvement in research, teaching, and service programs in NJ and throughout the world – both faculty and students at the GSE are challenged to actively engage as global citizens committed to ethical action and educational equity in all learning environments.

Students applying to the GSE that wish to focus their study within this area and expand global and multicultural competencies are encouraged to explore the language education, social studies education, adult continuing education, bilingual education, and English-as-a-second-language education programs that are offered by the GSE at various academic levels. Other programs, such as Education, Culture, and Society and Theory, Organization, and Policy, also profile the latest research in this area of study. While enrolled at the GSE, students will also have access to exciting opportunities to study abroad including exploring language learning and community engagement in Argentina, classroom organization in the Mexico, and or education, culture, and change in South Africa.
