Dr. Battey Named Rutgers-New Brunswick Chancellor’s Scholar

Dr. Daniel Battey, Associate Professor at the Rutgers Graduate School of Education (GSE), is among the inaugural cohort of 16 individuals designated to be Chancellor’s Scholars.

The Chancellor's Scholar initiative was created as part of the New Brunswick Strategic Plan to recognize outstanding and promising faculty members at the associate professor level.   As a Chancellor's Scholar, Battey will receive $5,000 toward his research account for innovative research initiatives and/or program development for up to five years.

Dr. Battey’s research focuses on relational interactions between students and teachers in elementary math classrooms.He is currently working with a team of researchers at the GSE to improve the integration of course work and fieldwork for the elementary education masters degree program at the GSE
