Boy Scouts of America Honors Dean Blanchett at the 2015 Tribute to Women Award Luncheon

The Patriots’ Path Council recently presented Dean Wanda Blanchett with an award at the annual Tribute to Women Awards Luncheon. The Patriots’ Path Council of the Boy Scouts of America is one of the most esteemed Boy Scout councils in the nation. Each year, they honor selected individuals for demonstrating excellent commitment and leadership to their community. Dr. Blanchett and four other distinguished scholars received awards for serving as excellent role models to the youth community in the Middlesex County.

 

Along with Dr. Blanchett, the Boy Scouts of America, Patriots’ Path Council honored Lucinda Florio, Bonnie Nolan, Ph.D., Kelly Ryman, and Patricia Whitley-Williams, M.D., FAAP.

 

 

Dr. Blanchett entered the office as Dean of the Graduate School of Education on September 1, 2014. A seasoned administrator known for bridging the gap between universities and their surrounding communities, she is well known for her work in the field of teacher education, special education, and urban education. A strong advocate for community service, Dr. Blanchett devotes much of her time in helping less privileged children in urban settings. She received her B.S.E. and M.S.E. degrees from the University of Central Arkansas, and earned her Ph.D. in special education from Pennsylvania State University in 1997.

 

The Patriots’ Path Council is a not-for-profit organization that provides young people with opportunities to grow their character and practice good moral values as they mature into adulthood. The Patriots’ Path Council is spread over Morris, Sussex, Somerset, Union, and Middlesex counties in New Jersey and has over 19,000 youth members and 6,000 leaders. As one of the nation’s leading groups in fighting against child abuse, it encourages young people to stand up and develop strong personal and family values.
