Program Coordinator Position

La Casa de Don Pedro is looking to hire a Program Coordinator. 

• Under the general direction of the Division Director, the Program Coordinator will provide administrative and programmatic support through the coordination and administration of programs and projects under the discipline of adult basic education.

Responsibilities Include:
• Prepare emails and promotional materials for internal and external communications.
• Assist in scheduling prospective program participants for assessments and/or orientations.
• Help in conducting initial intakes, assessment and orientation for all participants. During orientation inform participants of program policies, objectives and services.
• Provide case management to English as a Second Language, Adult Basic Skills and High School Equivalency participants and ensure that each participant has an action plan
• Maintain participant files.
• Connect participants to additional resources.
• Monitor educational progress through the administration of standardized adult literacy assessments at program entry and exit.
• Ensures that participant adheres to program attendance requirements and maintains in compliance.
• Accountable for managing the daily operations of adult literacy program(s) through effective coordinating, implementing, measuring and reporting of the results of metrics to funders. Reporting may include typed, computerized or specific based funder database.
• Ensure all team members deliver services in conformance to established guidelines, policies and curricula.
• Evaluate program data to devise corrective actions (if needed), track and report attainment of performance benchmarks and monitor outcomes. Monitor and track all data collection information for monthly statistical reporting.
• Meets regularly with Division Director and/or Deputy Director to ensure progress and address any new challenges.
• Attends program and divisional meetings internally as well as externally.
• Attend professional development workshops required under program contract(s).
• Establish collaboration and partnership with outside agencies referring prospective clients; track and follow-up with referrals with contact person(s).
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

Educational Level, Qualifications, Requirements and *Physical Demands:
• Bachelor’s Degree in social services with one year of supervisory and non-profit work experience.
• Bilingual/Bicultural (Must be able to read, write and speak Spanish fluently).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Candidate must be proficient with MS office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint a must).
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Self-starter and strong willingness to take initiative.
• Must be able to travel for in-town and out-of-town conferences and trainings

• Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm and Tuesday and Thursday 11:00 am – 7:00 pm. (Please note however there will be times when there may be additional 11:00am-7:00pm shifts in order to account for pre and post testing, and other programmatic reasons.)
