Vision, choice, and time are key beliefs that form the foundation for best practice in teaching writing. The decisions teachers make in classrooms determine whether their actions align with beliefs. In this workshop we will examine key beliefs about teaching writing and the actions that align with those beliefs, including: 
   • Vision: The Importance of Mentor Throughout Writing Workshop 
   • Conferring with Writers: Teaching vs. Reminding, Telling, Correcting 
   • Increasing Energy through Choice of Topic and Genre 
   • Teacher Decision Making Day by Day in a Unit of Study 
   • Increasing Energy, Engagement, and Stamina in Writing
