Thursday, December 7, 2017 9:00am - 2:00pm

Location: Busch Campus Center, 604 Bartholomew Rd., Piscataway, NJ

During this interactive workshop, Kathy Collins will share useful research-based ideas for teaching children how to read in ways that help them to comprehend AND develop their own text-based ideas. She’ll show how the social structures of reading partnerships, reading clubs, and book clubs can provide opportunities for children to discuss their ideas while developing expressive and receptive oral language skills. Teachers will leave with practical ideas to implement in the short term as well as provocative ideas to consider with colleagues.
