First Children School has an opening for Teacher Assistants for the 2022-2023 school year, Monday – Friday, 8:30AM to 3:30PM. The Teacher Assistant will perform routine duties in caring for children in the classroom. Maintains a safe, clean physical environment. Participates, under the supervision of the teacher, in the program of education and therapy. Provides support in managing behaviors, assisting with food prep and feeding, toileting/diapering, arts/crafts, and all educational activities. Works with children who are multiply handicapped. Knowledge of American Sign Language a PLUS!
Required Skills/Experience: High school diploma required. College credits or degree in Special Education preferred. Previous experience working with children in a classroom setting is required. Patience and the ability to work with children who have multiple disabilities. Knowledge of American Sign Language a PLUS! Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs. Competitive rates!
