ESL Instructor – East Brunswick Library
Job Type: Temporary Grant-Funded
General Description: The East Brunswick Public Library is seeking an English as a Second Language instructor to teach intermediate level classes for adult students. The instructor will develop, plan and facilitate curriculum for an English language-learning program. Instruction will take place in-person at the library.
Schedule: The program will run for 5 weeks, from February 5 through March 1, 2024. The first week will be curriculum planning and the last four weeks will be instruction. Classes will run Monday through Friday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, with a one hour lunch break.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Ability: The ESL Instructor must be able to communicate effectively through verbal and written means. They must be able to engage students through tailored lessons that improve their English writing and speaking skills. The ESL instructor must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with library staff and adult students.
Education, Minimum Training and Experience: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and experience teaching English as a Second Language. ESL Certification a plus. Experience in adult instruction is preferred.
