NJ School Administrator Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility
Experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or comparable central office position is required
Classroom and building level administrative experience are preferred ·

The successful candidate for superintendent should be able to demonstrate the following:

> Instructional leader with a strong curriculum background
> Experience with short and long range educational and facilities planning
> Leadership in the supervision of a K-12 district
> Management skills in dealing with staff, public relations, policy, and school construction
> Excellent communication and problem solving skills

In addition, the superintendent should be keenly aware of educational trends and their practical application, augmented by positive interpersonal skills, enthusiasm and good humor. He/she should be a visible and approachable presence in the schools as she/he promotes a team approach, involving staff, administrators, parents, and the Board, in a united effort to provide effective education for all students.
