Part-Time AmeriCorps Fellow - The Collaborative

The Collaborative, a Center for Community-Based Learning, Service, and Public Scholarship (formerly 
known as the CESEP Program) is hiring a part-time 900-Hour member AmeriCorps Fellow to serve on food 
security issues in New Brunswick, NJ. Responsiblilites include: helping with emergency food efforts, coordinating students serving at referrals to aide programs, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program 
(SNAP, formerly food stamps) outreach, and urban garden development, the Fellow will serve as a liaison 
between the Collaborative and the New Brunswick Community Food Alliance (NBCFA).
 
Member Duties
 Connect low-income clients with community-based aide initiatives 
 Refer un- and underemployed clients to job training and placement programs 
 Assist eligible Middlesex County residents with the SNAP application process 
 Maintain database with client information for follow-up and reporting purposes
 Assist residents with maintaining and harvesting produce 
 Sustain partnerships with local community organizations and Middlesex County Board of Social Services
 Attend regular meetings of the New Jersey Food Stamp Alliance
 Participate in regular NBCFA work group meetings and events 
 Complete research and fieldwork for NBCFA work group projects 
 Completes  AmeriCorps reporting
