Director of Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness

Rider University invites applications for a Director of Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness to support the development, implementation and use of assessment by engaging and empowering faculty and staff to design and use assessment strategies in academic courses, programs, and at the institutional level to improve student learning. The Director also: supports and works collaboratively with administrators, faculty and staff in all phases of the assessment process as outlined in existing academic policy for assessment; works collaboratively with the Teaching and Learning Center to support ongoing attention to the role of effective teaching in student success; and is responsible for the effective use of institutional data to support and guide decision-making. 


The successful candidate will possess a Master's level education in a social science discipline, as well as skill with quantitative and qualitative data analysis, experience and skill in developing plans for assessment, and experience with regional higher education accreditation, preferably Middle States. Individual must also possess strong oral, written, interpersonal and quantitative skills. Strong preference will be given to candidates with a terminal degree, university teaching experience, knowledge of human subject research protocols and the scholarship of teaching and learning.
