Consultant - Office of Educator Evaluation, NJ DOE


The Office of Educator Evaluation at the New Jersey Department of Education is looking to secure the services of a consultant to work approximately 20-30 hours per week at the NJDOE offices to perform the following responsibilities: 

Supporting the Office of Evaluation in designing policy to guide the roll-out of educator evaluation systems. 

Conducting research, framing policy alternatives, and generating recommendations. 

Generating guidance materials, tools and communications materials to support public school educators as they design and implement educator evaluation systems. 

Providing support to lead staff in the implementation of teacher and principal pilots. 



A minimum of two years of education and/or public policy experience. 

Strong writing, organizational, research, and analytic abilities. 

Demonstrated commitment to education reform and a passion for supporting highly effective teaching and educational leadership. 

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. 


Compensation will be commensurate with experience not to exceed $80/hour. The contract (DOE Special Services Employee) will be for one year not to exceed 944 hours with possible extension in subsequent years. There are no fringe benefits for this position.
