Requirements for students working on an Ed.D.

Here's some information to help our students to successfully complete their Ed.D. program at the GSE.

Dissertation

  • Dissertation Handbook for GSE Ed.D. Students: This handbook covers details for crafting your dissertation, including the cover and other elements.

  • Deadlines for Dissertation Defense:

    • For January 2010 graduates, the last day for Dissertation Defense is December 9th, 2009.  Please submit all necessary microfilming forms and final version of dissertation with revisions by December 23rd, 2009.
    • For May 2010 graduates, the last day for Dissertation Defense is April 1, 2010.  Please submit all necessary microfilming forms and final version of dissertation with revisions by April 15, 2010.

Graduation

  • Required: Online Dipolma Application: This online form is required by the University for graduation.

  • Required: ProQuest Dissertation Publishing Agreement Form: This form is used to gather biographical and other information needed to copyright and publish your dissertation and is required for graduation. If you wish to purchase copies of your published dissertation, you may also order them using this form.

  • Required: Dissertation microfilm payment form: This form is needed to pay the fee for your dissertation to be microfilmed and copyrighted. This is required for graduation.

  • Survey of Earned Doctorates: The Survey of Earned Doctorates (SED) is a federal agency survey conducted by NORC for the National Science Foundation and five other federal agencies. The SED gathers information annually from U.S. research doctorate graduates about their educational histories, funding sources, and post-doctoral plans. The information is kept confidential and is used by Federal sponsors to help governmental and private institutions to develop and support graduate education programs. This survey is optional .
