The Department of Educational Theory, Policy and Administration is pleased to offer an emphasis in Higher Education through either the Ed.M. program in Educational Administration and Supervision or the Ed.M. program in Social and Philosophical Foundations of Education.
The higher education emphasis is for professionals who are currently working in higher education/post-secondary settings or for those who are considering careers in higher education. Additionally, individuals who are working in non-governmental organizations may find the emphasis appropriate.
The emphasis has two tracks: The track in the Social and Philosophical Foundations of Education program is for those individuals who are working in academic support programs such as EOF, admissions and enrollment management, continuing education, extension services, human resources and so forth and wish to both better understand their current positions as well as seek possible advancement. Designed with flexibility to serve working adults, students will pursue a range of electives appropriate to their interests as they complete their degrees.
The track in Educational Administration and Supervision is targeted for beginning or early-career administrators in higher education. This is a highly structured program for individuals who are concerned with day-to-day operational and managerial issues in higher education and non-governmental organizations.
Application deadlines and requirements:
Spring admittance--November 1 deadline
Fall admittance--February 1 deadline
Those who miss the above application deadlines may take courses as non-matriculated students by completing the non-matriculated student application which is on-line. Up to twelve credits taken as a non-matriculated student may be counted toward the degree.
