cce_large_profile_photo.jpg"What makes one child do well while another fails? How do culture and environment foster resilience in children? Can a child 'bounce back' after a traumatic experience?"

These questions are at the core of my research that looks at what makes children resilient. The ability to create or identify cultural contexts that promote resilience is a way to prevent psychopathology.

Research interests:

My research interests include cross-cultural psychology with children and families, bilingualism in psychotherapy, resilience, and public education through the media. A key interest is to explore what fosters resilience in children and adolescents at home, in the community, and in schools.
