The Graduate School of Education is organized into three departments with four programs each. The focus of the Department of Educational Psychology is upon expanding knowledge in education and psychology and forging a link between these areas. Psychology is applied to the concerns of education, which in turn informs the development of new psychology. The Department of Educational Theory, Policy and Administration prepares educational leaders for schools and other educational institutions. The focus of the Department of Learning and Teaching is upon improving learning, instruction, and curricula makers across a broad range of content areas: literacy, languages, mathematics, science, technology, and early childhood/elementary education.
The Department of Educational Psychology seeks to inform and improve educational practice through the creation and application of knowledge, through the preparation of educational professionals and researchers and through constructive engagement with educational agencies and institutions at the local, state, national, and international levels.
The mission of the The Department of Educational Theory, Policy and Administration, consistent with the University mission, is to engage in research, teaching, and service. The Department prepares educational leaders and scholars through a range of programs for educational professionals, including teachers, administrators, and policy makers from preschool to adult levels.
The Department of Learning & Teaching upholds the University's tripartite mission of teaching, scholarship, and service, directed toward the ultimate goal of improving educational practice.
