GSE Ranked among America’s Best

The annual U.S. News & World Report's rankings for graduate schools of education place the Rutgers Graduate School of Education (GSE) among America’s best. In this rating system of both private and public schools of education, only the top 50 out of 280 are designated a "top school."

Rutgers GSE ranked number 46 in the country, and ninth in the Northeast.

According to the latest U.S. News & World Report survey of graduate programs, the Rutgers University Graduate School of Education is one of the top graduate programs in the United States. Rutgers GSE was the only graduate education program in New Jersey to be ranked by U.S. News & World Report within the top 50.

The U.S. News & World Report rankings compare information gathered from more than 12,000 graduate programs, including business, education, engineering, law, and medicine. For rankings of graduate education programs, 280 schools granting doctoral degrees were surveyed in the fall of 2011. Respondents provided the data upon which the rankings were based. Programs are ranked each year based on both expert opinion and statistical measures regarding the quality of faculty, research, and students.

GSE Dean Richard De Lisi expressed satisfaction with the school's rankings. "The GSE is in the top 16 percent of all graduate schools of education in the United States. While this is only one measure of achievement, we are nevertheless proud to see that our programs, faculty, and students are recognized as some of the best nationally."
